Tom Holland and other celebrities have reacted to Spider-Man being back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Marvel and Sony reached an agreement.

On Friday, it was revealed that the two studios will be coproducing the third "Spider-Man" film, which hits theaters on July 16, 2021. The webslinger's fate was previously uncertain after a deal between Marvel and Sony fell through.

After news broke about Marvel and Sony teaming up for the upcoming sequel, Holland posted a scene from the 2013 movie "The Wolf of Wall Street," which showed Leonardo DiCaprio's character giving a speech about "not leaving."

"I'm not leaving," DiCaprio said in the film. "I'm not leaving. I'm not f---ing leaving. The show goes on."

Celebrities who saw Holland's post were thrilled and shared their reactions.

"Spider-Man: Far From Home" costar Zendaya, who plays MJ, posted four crying-laughing emojis. She also tweeted a GIF of an animated Spider-Man dancing.

Tony Revolori, who plays social media-obsessed Flash Thompson in the franchise, wrote: "Perfect!!!" Remy Hii, who stars as fellow student Brad Davis, said, "Nailed it."

Mark Ruffalo (Hulk/Bruce Banner) also weighed in on the news by writing: "Back in a snap! Had a feeling we would see you again [green heart emoji]." The actor's comment was a reference to Thanos' "Infinity War" snap, which turned several characters (like Spider-Man) to dust. The characters were brought back in 2019's "Avengers: Endgame."

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who recently struck up a friendship with the actor, wrote: "F---. Yes. [drinking glass emoji]. "Rocketman" star Taron Egerton shared three emojis to sum up how he felt: a spider, raised hands, and a heart.

Jacob Batalon, who plays Peter's best friend Ned, told Insider's Kirsten Acuna that "it's so amazing."

"We were really prepared to move on with Sony, but we're so happy to be working with Marvel again," Batalon said.

Holland is the third actor to play the webslinger from Queens in a major franchise (Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield previously portrayed the character). The 23-year-old star made his debut in 2016's "Captain America: Civil War." Holland has since starred in a standalone Spider-Man movie (2017's "Homecoming") and "Infinity War."

In 2019, Holland appeared in "Avengers: Endgame" and "Far From Home." Both movies hit $1 billion at the box office, and "Far From Home" became Sony's highest-grossing movie of the year.
